Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a seasoned Construction QA Inspector for on-site work in Louisville, KY. The role focuses on surveillance, code compliance, and coordination with government personnel across all construction phases.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 10 years of experience on large federal projects, deep knowledge of relevant codes, and strong reporting skills to deliver comprehensive site documentation and engineering reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED minimum; AS/BA in Construction Management or Engineering preferred
• Minimum 10 years of construction contract administration and inspection on large DoD/USACE projects preferred
• Experience with vertical construction projects; hospital construction experience highly preferred
• Experience with building codes and relevant standards (NFPA 101, NEC, IPC, NFPA 13/72, ASHRAE)
• Experience with three-phase inspection and OSHA/EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers surveillance reports on construction phases for compliance with plans, specs, workmanship, materials, and methods
• Provides technical expertise to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specs, and design instructions
• Performs inspections and completes daily site reports including progress, safety, and subcontractor manpower
• Observes and investigates construction phases, identifies problems, suggests changes, and assesses contract modification needs
• Prepares engineering plans or reports and assists in contract modification processes
• Reviews contractor plans and submittals for approval, including schedules, environmental, safety, and QC programs
• Monitors progress of all construction activities and informs the project team of potential delays
• Performs other duties as assigned
