Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager at our San Marcos Fulfillment Center. You will oversee budget, people development, and operational objectives, leading a team of Operations and Area Managers and mentoring them to meet performance goals.

You will balance operational excellence with staff development, drive safety and quality, and coordinate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, and IT to secure resources for initiatives across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Experience with performance metrics and Lean techniques.
• Experience with full staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, termination.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and implementation of quality improvement and process optimization initiatives, including Lean, to enhance efficiency.
• Responsible for overall performance of either Inbound or Outbound operation, including safety, quality and customer experience.
• Sets and clarifies requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and creating improvement plans.
• Ensures best practices are shared across departments, shifts and network.
• Works with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure resources for projects.
