Job summary

Hitachi Energy in South Boston VA is seeking a Factory Director Senior Leader to oversee all aspects of the Distribution Transformer plant’s operations, including production, quality, lean manufacturing, and logistics.

You will lead staff, implement continuous improvement, manage the SIOP process, and develop future leaders while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality and safety standards.
• Proven ability to lead, engage teams and achieve high performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall manufacturing operations, including staff and SIOP process.
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and lean principles.
• Develop programs and metrics to optimize performance and working capital.
• Recruit, retain and mentor high-performing teams and future leaders.
• Ensure a safe, healthy workplace and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with ITM team to integrate lean principles into production.
• Address challenges such as backfills, machine or part shortages.
