Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Factory Director Senior Leader to manage all operations of the Distribution Transformer manufacturing plant in South Boston, VA, including production, quality, and logistics, while upholding safety and integrity. The role leads staff, drives lean manufacturing, implements continuous improvement, and develops metrics to optimize performance and working capital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, business administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of manufacturing management experience.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to lead, engage teams, and achieve high performance.
• Excellent English communication skills at all levels.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all manufacturing operations, including staff and the SIOP processes.
• Implement lean principles and continuous improvement to boost productivity and reduce costs.
• Develop programs and metrics to optimize operational performance and working capital.
• Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing teams and future leaders.
• Ensure a safe, healthy work environment and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with ITM to integrate lean principles into production processes.
• Address production challenges such as machine issues, material shortages, or staffing gaps.
