Job summary

Hitachi Energy in South Boston, VA seeks a Factory Director Senior Leader to oversee all aspects of the Distribution Transformer manufacturing plant, including production, quality, operational excellence and logistics. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive engagement, and achieve high performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex situations.
• Experience mentoring and developing team members and building development programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall manufacturing operations, including staff and the SIOP process.
• Implement continuous improvement methodologies and lean principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Develop programs and metrics to optimize operational performance and working capital.
• Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing teams and establish a talent pipeline.
• Provide a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with the ITM team to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.
• Address challenges such as backfilling key positions and training leaders.
• Tackle production hurdles due to machine issues, part shortages, or personnel shortages.
• Promote and embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.
