Job summary

The Building People, LLC is seeking a Senior Facility Site Accessor for a federal client on a secure campus in Washington, DC. The role emphasizes mechanical systems expertise, energy assessments, and BAS optimization, with strong coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate independent work habits, technical judgment, and effective communication while supporting DoW, DHS, VA, and GSA portfolios. Extensive field work and travel are required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering professional with experience in building mechanical systems, facility condition assessments, energy assessments, building automation systems, cost estimating, and facility asset lifecycle management.
• Strong technical judgment, quality-control discipline, and clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with management, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct inventories and condition assessments of building and infrastructure components across a variety of facility types, with emphasis on MEP systems.
• Identify, classify, and document deficient conditions and provide written narratives describing general condition.
• Recommend corrective actions for identified deficiencies to support repair, renewal, modernization, lifecycle planning, and cost estimates.
• Exercise independent judgment and perform quality control of field surveys, data input, assessment findings, and report output.
• Lead regular communications with management regarding project schedules, progress, risks, findings, and status.
• Prepare facility assessment and audit findings reports, including energy assessments.
• Review live Building Automation Systems (BAS) data for energy assessments and system optimization.
• Review cost estimates and recommend database modifications based on real-world cost data.
• Apply engineering design, energy-management, and Facility Asset Management principles for asset-performance development.
