Job summary

The Building People, LLC seeks a Senior Facility Site Accessor with an active Secret Clearance to support a federal client at a secure campus in Washington, DC. The successful candidate is a well-rounded mechanical engineering professional with expertise in building systems, facility assessments, energy work, BAS, cost estimating, and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant building construction experience in mechanical systems or MEP
• Experience supporting federal facility condition assessments or capital-planning programs.
• Familiar with CERL Sustainment Management System (SMS) and BUILDER.
• Broad knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, controls, energy management.
• Ability to travel 50% to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inventories and condition assessments of building/infrastructure components with emphasis on MEP systems.
• Identify and document deficient conditions with narratives.
• Recommend corrective actions for deficiencies for repair, renewal, and lifecycle planning.
• Lead field surveys QA and ensure data quality.
• Schedule and lead regular communications with management on schedules, risks, findings, and status.
• Prepare assessment and audit reports, including energy assessments.
• Review BAS for performance data and extract info for energy and optimization.
• Review cost estimates and document database modifications based on real data.
• Apply asset-management and lifecycle principles to define parameters for services development.
• Stay current on MEP trades, standards, codes, and industry terms.
• Prepare training materials and train team members on building mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders, facility managers, contractors, and project teams to translate needs into solutions.
• Report to secure federal campus in Washington, DC, and travel as required.
