Job summary

The Building People, LLC is seeking a Senior Facility Site Accessor with an active Secret Clearance to support a federal client at a secure campus in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded mechanical engineering professional with experience in building mechanical systems, facility condition assessments, energy assessments, building automation systems, cost estimating, and facility asset lifecycle management.

Strong technical judgment and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher engineering degree is not stated; candidates should have mechanical engineering expertise and federal portfolio experience.
• Experience with building mechanical systems, condition and energy assessments, BAS, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to coordinate with management, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inventories and condition assessments of building and infrastructure components, focusing on MEP systems.
• Identify and document deficiencies and provide narratives describing condition.
• Recommend corrective actions with detail to support repairs, modernization, and cost estimates.
• Lead field surveys, data input, and QC of outputs.
• Schedule and lead communications with management on schedules, progress, risks, findings, and status.
• Prepare assessment and audit reports, including energy assessments.
• Review BAS data for energy optimization opportunities.
• Review and inform cost estimates using costing software and databases.
• Apply asset management principles for ongoing projects and services.
• Stay current on MEP building trades and standards.
• Develop training materials and train team members on MEP systems.
• Coordinate with government stakeholders, facility managers, contractors, and project teams to translate needs into engineering solutions.
