Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Facilities Renovation/Restoration Technician for University Hospital – Facilities Administration. The role involves repairing, renovating, and maintaining both interiors and exteriors, with carpentry, flooring, finishing, and fire-safety tasks.

You will respond to maintenance issues, assist other trades, and ensure compliance with safety standards, while documenting work and delivering customer-focused service. This is a 40-hour, second-shift position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in construction carpentry, fire-stopping, and painting.
• Ability to qualify in two of: Carpentry, Finishing, Fire-stopping, Flooring.
• OSHA 10 certification to be obtained during probation.
• Ohio driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Repair, renovate, and maintain building interiors and exteriors.
• Perform carpentry, flooring, finishing, and fire-safety work.
• Ensure facilities meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and respond to emergencies.
• Complete documentation and provide customer-focused service.
• Collaborate with team members and support facility operations.
