American Electric Power is seeking a Facilities Project Manager Senior-Principal to lead complex projects across multiple locations including Ft. Wayne, IN and Niles, MI. The role requires managing plans, budgets, and procurement while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor other managers and coordinate a matrix team with internal/external stakeholders. The position emphasizes leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver high-value results in nuclear/utilities

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science or related field with 5 years qualified experience, two-year associate’s degree with 7 years, or high school with 9 years qualified experience.
PMP certification is preferred but not required.
Valid state driver’s license required.
Experience in utilities, nuclear power, and/or IT systems is favorable.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities.
Use Waterfall and Agile methods for project management and ensure safe, efficient delivery.
Develop and manage project/outage plans, schedules, budgets and procurement activities.
Communicate project status in meetings and written reports with stakeholders.
Mentor and develop junior project managers and supervise sub-teams as assigned.
Represent AEP with customers, vendors and regulators as needed.
Closeout projects with analysis of objectives and benefits realized.
