Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, North Carolina, is seeking a Senior Facilities Project Engineer to lead the integration and delivery of campus systems from design through production readiness.

You will oversee capital projects across office, warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environments, coordinating electrical, mechanical, civil, and building-control interfaces to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, facilities engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience delivering capital projects in large industrial or manufacturing facilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and managing integrated cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, civil infrastructure interfaces across complex facilities.
• Professional credentials (PE, PMP, LEED) or equivalent where relevant.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility planning, design, construction, commissioning, and readiness while managing scope, budgets, schedules, and execution strategies.
• Integrate facility and manufacturing systems across office, warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environments.
• Lead consultants, contractors, and suppliers through design, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, maintenance, safety, quality, IT, and OT teams to resolve priorities and trade-offs.
• Provide clear business updates to leadership on risks, costs, and schedule with actionable recommendations.
