Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Chief Engineer II to maintain the store's building systems, supervise trades and maintenance staff, and ensure reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety equipment.

You will lead preventive maintenance programs, manage budgets and vendor relationships, and collaborate with store leadership to deliver safe, efficient operations that support a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance and respond to calls within assigned stores.
• Direct facilities personnel and contractors.
• Set annual goals for direct reports and monitor progress.
• Coach, mentor, and recognize field staff.
• Track KPIs such as eAM productivity and energy efficiency.
• Ensure purchases follow procedures and approved vendors.
• Assist in capital requests and store projects.
• Collaborate with store management, operations, and loss prevention.
• Perform electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and related tasks.
• Uphold safety procedures and foster inclusive environment.
