Job summary

JLL is seeking a Chief Engineer in Seal Beach, CA to lead the engineering team in maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems. You will drive reliability-based maintenance, supervise technicians, manage contractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while supporting continuous improvement across facilities.

The role emphasizes leadership, maintenance planning, inventory management and documentation, with a focus on uptime and safety in a high‑performing environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of facilities-related work experience with 5+ years in a leadership/managerial capacity
• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes and construction planning/execution
• Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical and electrical systems
• Proficiency with MS Office and CMMS; strong verbal/written communication
• Proven track record of excellent internal and external customer service

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain refrigeration, cooling, HVAC, boilers, pumps, valves, piping; oversee maintenance programs
• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training and development
• Maintain inventory levels; issue purchase orders; secure material sources
• Identify safety hazards; implement safety training; ensure regulatory compliance
• Oversee contractor activities; manage CFWA process; maintain drawings and regulatory records
