Job summary

JLL in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team, ensuring safety, uptime, and cost efficiency through reliable maintenance practices. You will supervise engineers and maintenance staff, manage contractor activities, and maintain infrastructure documentation.

The role requires 8+ years in facilities with 5+ in leadership, HVAC and mechanical systems expertise, and CMMS proficiency. On-site work, regulatory compliance, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of facilities-related work with 5+ years in a leadership/managerial capacity.
• Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes with understanding of construction planning and execution.
• Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operation.
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operation of refrigeration, HVAC, boilers and pumps; oversee preventive maintenance programs.
• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, and development.
• Ensure availability of inventory by procurement and stock checks; manage stock levels.
• Identify safety hazards and implement remediation; conduct safety training and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee contractor activities and maintain building drawings and records.
