Job summary

Lumentum is seeking an experienced Senior Export Control Operations Lead to support U.S. export operations and strengthen the company’s global export compliance framework. This role leads jurisdiction and classification activities, licensing, screening, end-use/end-user due diligence, and deemed export controls for the Americas region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, engineering, or related.
• 12+ years of U.S. export control experience with the EAR, ITAR, and U.S. sanctions.
• Hands-on with classification, licensing, screening, and technology control.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in complex regulatory scenarios.
• Effective communicator across cross-functional teams.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment.
• Experience with Global Trade Management or ERP-based compliance tools.
• Professional certifications (CES, CUSECO) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Export Control Classification: Determine and document export jurisdiction and classification for hardware and technology under the EAR and ITAR.
• Export Licensing Management: Identify licensing requirements and prepare, submit, and manage licenses including TAAs and MLAs.
• End‑Use, End‑User, and Destination Screening: Conduct embargo and sanctions checks and due diligence.
• Deemed Export & Technology Control: Manage deemed export compliance and develop TCPs.
• Compliance Program Management, Regulatory Monitoring & Training: Support program improvements and deliver training.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Advisory Support: Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, IT, and others.
• Process Improvement, Automation & Digital Innovation: Lead automation and digital tooling to improve accuracy and scalability.
• External Engagement & Regulatory Interface: Engage with regulators and industry groups.
