Job summary

Lumentum seeks an experienced Senior Export Control Operations Lead to support U.S. export operations and strengthen the company’s global export compliance framework.

You will serve as the subject matter expert on EAR, ITAR, and related regulatory requirements, leading jurisdiction and classification, licensing, screening, and deemed export control for the Americas region. You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, IT, and other functions to embed export control requirements,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related.
• 12+ years of U.S. export control experience with the EAR, ITAR, and U.S. sanctions.
• Hands-on experience with complex classification, licensing, screening, and technology control.
• Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail in regulatory scenarios.
• Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration ability.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with Global Trade Management or ERP-based compliance tools.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CES, CUSECO) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Export Control Classification: determine jurisdiction and classification for hardware and technology under EAR/ITAR.
• Export Licensing Management: identify licensing requirements and manage licenses, TAAs, MLAs.
• End-Use, End-User, and Destination Screening: conduct screening and due diligence.
• Deemed Export & Technology Control: manage deemed export compliance and TCPs.
• Compliance Program Management: support continuous improvement and conduct training.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, IT, etc.
• Process Improvement, Automation & Digital Innovation: lead automation and AI-driven enhancements.
• External Engagement & Regulatory Interface: engage with regulators and trade groups.
