Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking an Executive Underwriter to join our Specialty Casualty team. You will underwrite and manage a portfolio of high-hazard General Liability and Excess liability risks, while developing new business with wholesale brokers in accordance with AmTrust E&S guidelines.

The role requires extensive risk assessment experience, with a focus on construction, products liability, hospitality and distressed premises. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years industry experience with 10+ years in Excess & Surplus lines.
• BA/BS degree strongly preferred or equivalent in experience.
• CPCU or related Insurance Designation preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial E&S risk, pricing and coverage options.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a flow of new business opportunities with brokers and manage a book of business.
• Develop risk pricing using exposures, claims experience, and pricing tools.
• Consistently achieve budgeted financial results for portfolios.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal and Claims to drive product strategies and initiatives.
• Coach, lead and develop underwriters and provide coverage training.
• Travel up to 25% of time within the assigned territory.
