AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking an Executive Underwriter for the Specialty Casualty underwriting team.

The role focuses on underwriting and managing a portfolio of high-hazard General Liability and Excess risk, with emphasis on construction, products liability, hospitality and distressed premises. The position requires 15+ years of industry experience, 10+ years in E&S, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• 15+ years industry experience in underwriting.
• 10+ years in ExcesS & Surplus lines with specialized coverage for higher-hazard risks.
• BA/BS degree strongly preferred, or equivalent in experience.
• CPCU or other related Insurance Designation(s) preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial E&S risk, pricing and coverage options.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a steady flow of new business opportunities and manage broker development.
• Develop risk pricing by analyzing exposures, claims experience, and pricing tools.
• Consistently achieve budgeted financial results for premiums, loss ratios, and expenses.
• Contribute to product development strategies and market competitiveness in E&S.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal and Claims to support business objectives.
• Mentor underwriters and provide coverage training.
