Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. is seeking an Executive Underwriter to lead a portfolio of hard-to-place liability risks within the Specialty Casualty unit.

You will underwrite, price, negotiate, and manage risk for non-admitted primary and excess liability and professional liability lines, with a focus on construction, products liability, hospitality and distressed premises. The role requires advanced risk assessment skills and extensive industry experience (15+ years; 10+ in E&S).

Qualifications

• 15+ years industry experience with 10+ years in E&S for higher-hazard, complex risks.
• BA/BS degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience.
• CPCU or related designation preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial E&S risk, pricing, and coverage options.
• Ability to align with strategic priorities including pricing strategy and underwriting appetite.
• Strong marketing and business development experience within wholesale distribution.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a flow of new business opportunities; manage broker development within the book of business.
• Develop risk pricing by analyzing exposures, claims experience and pricing tools for new accounts.
• Consistently achieve budgeted financial results for the portfolio.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal and Claims to drive product development and competitiveness.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and emerging exposures to support portfolio decisions.
• Provide coaching and development for underwriters and coverage training.
