Job summary

AmTrust E&S Insurance Services, a member of the AmTrust group, seeks an AVP, Underwriting to lead a team responsible for E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess Products in the designated region. You will supervise underwriters, analyze risk, price coverage, and mentor staff to drive profitability.

The role requires 7+ years in commercial underwriting with E&S experience, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years Commercial Underwriting background with emphasis on E&S Casualty.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with wholesale brokerage community.
• Team focused with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing E&S Primary Casualty and Supported Excess Products while producing and maintaining a book of business themselves
• Develop workflows and maximize automation
• Implement procedures to increase profitability
• Audit underwriters to identify challenges, confusion in procedure or guidelines, and need for additional training
• Assist Underwriters in solving more complex underwriting issues
• Represent the Underwriting Department with key company contacts
• Seek out and develop new relationships with wholesale brokers
• Train new staff as needed
