Hyatt Regency Minneapolis is seeking an Associate Director of Events to support the Director of Events, develop talented colleagues, and drive exceptional event results. You will manage key accounts, mentor staff, and collaborate across departments to deliver memorable experiences for guests and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years hotel events experience.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Proficiency in hotel sales and events systems, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
• Strong understanding of hotel event operations and client relationship management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Creativity and a proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to creating meaningful experiences for guests, customers, and colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead planner for the event planning phase with key accounts.
• Support forecasting, revenue projections, and financial reporting.
• Drive profitability through effective strategic menu pricing, space utilization, upselling opportunities, and cost awareness.
• Lead, coach, mentor and develop Events colleagues to achieve individual and departmental goals.
• Lead regular department meetings in partnership with the DOE.
• Partner closely with Event Services, Culinary, Front Office, Audio Visual, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Serve as a visible role model for exceptional service, teamwork, and colleague engagement.
• Ensure compliance with Hyatt brand standards, hotel policies, and safety requirements.
