Job summary

Encore Houston seeks a Director, Event Technology to lead AV operations for venue events. You will drive revenue, manage a small team, and ensure world-class service to key venue partners. This role emphasizes strong client relationships, technical leadership, and strategic planning to maximize profitability.

You will oversee scheduling, equipment, and on-site troubleshooting while coordinating with regional management to meet financial goals and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 3+ years of audio visual experience is required.
• 1+ year supervisory experience is preferred.
• 2+ years customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
• Sales experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AV equipment used in live events.
• Proficiency with computer hardware and software, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership abilities with customer-satisfaction focus.
• Must complete Level 3 Skills training.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong client relationships across levels to ensure retention.
• Manage venue operations, scheduling, equipment setups, operation and strikes.
• Drive revenue and profitability via cost controls and labor/equipment management.
• Coordinate invoicing and billing review with clients
• Prepare and present sales forecasts and performance reports
• Lead and coach a small team to deliver world-class service
• Ensure on-site technical support and timely problem resolution
• Collaborate with venue leadership on sales strategies and planning
• Attend site meetings and provide exceptional customer service
