Placements24 is seeking an experienced Event and Banqueting Manager for a premier venue in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will oversee end-to-end event delivery, from client brief to on-site execution, ensuring profitability and exceptional service.

The role requires 3+ years in event management, strong planning and people skills, and the ability to work irregular hours with teams across catering, AV, and suppliers. Medical aid contributions and professional development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in event management, banqueting, or hospitality coordination.
• Experience planning and executing corporate events, weddings, and conferences.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire event planning process from client consultation to post-event evaluation.
• Develop detailed proposals, timelines, budgets, and operational plans.
• Coordinate with clients to understand needs and ensure all requirements are met.
• Liaise with catering, venue staff, AV and external vendors for flawless execution.
• Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring timelines and quality standards.
• Manage on-site staff, providing clear direction and support.
• Ensure health, safety, and security protocols are followed.
• Control event budgets and vendor payments to ensure profitability.
• Seek opportunities to enhance event experience and client satisfaction.
• Maintain relationships with clients and venue partners to foster repeat business.
