Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a Senior Field Service Specialist – EV to perform complex electrical work onsite at customer facilities, including testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs. You will troubleshoot, train, establish LOTO, interact with customers, and prepare reports.

Responsibilities include leading transformer, cable, and circuit-breaker testing, installing and maintaining equipment, and supporting safety training and project planning for field assignments.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or military experience preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning.
• Ability to achieve NETA level III or IV within 6 months of employment.
• Project management experience and ability to support planning and cost management of field projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and write diagrams to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean all components in a substation.
• Lead tasks such as Transformer Testing (power factor, insulation resistance, SFRA, etc.).
• Lead Cable Testing (insulation resistance, tan delta, hipot, TDR, etc.).
• Lead Circuit Breaker Testing (insulation resistance, power factor, SF6 analysis, etc.).
• Test both electrical-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Plan, participate in, and develop safety meetings and training.
• Support management in planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects.
