Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a Senior Field Service Specialist to perform complex electrical work onsite at customer facilities, including testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs. The role requires troubleshooting, reporting, and coordination with customers, with occasional overtime and overnight travel.

Responsibilities include performing transformer, cable, and circuit breaker testing, following safety protocols, and supporting project planning and cost management.

Qualifications

• Requires practical electrical substation experience and ability to troubleshoot complex equipment.
• Must be able to obtain NETA Level III or IV certification within 6 months of employment.
• Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs at customer facilities.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power systems at customer sites.
• Read manuals and schematics to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean components in substations.
• Lead transformer, cable, and circuit breaker testing procedures and related analyses.
• Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Plan and participate in safety meetings and training.
• Support field project planning, scheduling, and cost management.
