Job summary

Premier Power Maintenance seeks a Senior Field Service Specialist - EV to perform complex electrical work onsite at customer facilities, including testing, maintenance, commissioning and repairs of substations.

Requires extensive substation experience, ability to lead testing across transformers, cables, and breakers, and to coordinate safety meetings. A high school diploma and 10+ years in the field are expected; willingness to relocate within 60 miles and to travel is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Electrical /Electronic Technology, or Military experience is preferred but not required.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning.
• Ability to achieve NETA level III or IV within 6 months of employment.
• Project management experience and the ability to support management in planning, scheduling, execution and cost management of field projects.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle check.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, as well as periodic, unannounced random testing.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain an endorsement to operate a combined vehicle weight up to 26k lbs.
• Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to obtain a company paid TWIC card, OSHA 10/ 30 hour , MSHA, NFPA 70E , and CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and write diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean all components in a substation.
• Lead Transformer Testing – Power factor, TTR, insulation resistance, SFRA, winding resistance, partial discharge, and leakage reactance.
• Lead Cable Testing – Insulation resistance, tan delta, hipot, TDR, partial discharge, and cable thumper.
• Lead Circuit Breaker Testing – Insulation resistance, contact resistance, Power Factor, breaker timing, SF6 gas analysis, CT testing, high current testing, secondary injection testing, and vacuum bottle integrity testing.
• Test both electrical-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Plan, participate in, and develop safety meetings and training.
• Support management in planning, scheduling, execution and cost management of field projects.
