Job summary

RBC Capital Markets is seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong server-side expertise to join the Credit eTrading technology team in Jersey City. You will develop and maintain enterprise-grade backend systems for Global Spread Products, focusing on low-latency trading platforms.

Join a fast-paced environment with data pipelines, analytics, and scalable data platforms. Full stack capabilities are valued, but server-side development is the primary mandate for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on Java and server-side development (J2EE/JEE).
• Proven ability to translate complex problems into robust data products used by demanding stakeholders.
• Multithreading experience is mandatory for concurrent processing.
• Experience with low latency optimization in high-frequency trading systems.

Responsibilities

• Be part of the Global Spread Products team within Credit eTrading, delivering scalable backend systems.
• Build and improve data platforms powering analytics and AI tools across trading and banking divisions.
• Standardize eTrading workflows, including deployment standards and reproducible training methods.
• Develop performance-critical trading systems where latency minimization is essential.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand needs and scale new products across the organization.
• Identify bottlenecks with leadership and drive platform improvements for long-term efficiency.
