Job summary

Capgemini in New York City is seeking a Java-focused developer with 6+ years of experience to own assignments from requirements gathering to rollout. You will work on an event-driven trading platform, adding business logic, services, maintenance, bug fixes, QA automation or framework development.

The role requires strong core/server-side Java, OO design, and willingness to interface directly with traders, sales, and operations. Open to learning Python and other technologies as needed.

Qualifications

• Developer with relevant Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of core/server-side Java.
• Experience in object-oriented programming & working with new/legacy systems.
• Fixed Income domain knowledge; experience with Rates (US Treasuries or Swaps).
• Willingness to communicate directly with clients (traders, sales, operations, tech partners).
• Good problem-solving, results-focused, can-do attitude to keep the business running and competitive.
• Ability to work in a team as an individual contributor.
• Claude Code or similar CLI AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Gain expertise in several components of the etrading platform and take ownership from requirements gathering to rollout.
• Add business logic, new services, maintenance, bug fixes, QA automation or framework development.
• Collaborate with traders, sales and operations to deliver reliable technology solutions.
