Job summary

RBC Capital Markets, LLC seeks an FX eTrading Senior Developer in New York, NY to design and enhance high-volume, low-latency pricing and trading systems using Java. You will work with traders and quant developers across the electronic trading stack, from market connectivity to middle/back-office hand-offs.

The role includes mentoring, providing expert input on low-latency Java, and maintaining automated DevOps pipelines as part of a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field with 3 years of experience.
• 3 years of experience in multithreaded Java and efforts to reduce trading latencies.
• Experience delivering high-availability, real-time trading systems.
• Familiarity with FX or Rates front office tech and high-frequency trading concepts.
• Experience with messaging systems (Solace, Tibco/RV, Aeron, IBM MQ).
• Server-side Java development and QA automation are required.
• Agile development methods and DevOps pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop FX high-volume, low-latency pricing and trading systems using Java and low-latency tech.
• Build software across the electronic trading stack: market connectivity, price processing, order management, and hand-off to back-office systems.
• Collaborate with traders and quantitative developers to gather and implement requirements; manage stakeholders.
• Provide 3rd-line support for the FX trading business.
• Mentor developers and contribute expert input on low-latency Java.
• Create and maintain fully automated DevOps pipelines and workflows.
