Job summary

The Citi Fixed Income eTrading team is hiring a Java backend lead to own post-trade data feeds and STP processing. You will design and maintain high-performance services that capture, validate, and enrich trade data across systems, ensuring low latency and data integrity in a global market.

This hybrid role, based in Mississauga, Ontario, requires 5+ years in Java, Spring, and real-time microservices, plus experience with Kafka, MongoDB and Oracle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development experience with Spring (or DI frameworks)
• 5+ years building real-time, low-latency microservices
• 5+ years with Java 8+, MongoDB, Oracle DB, OpenShift, Linux and Solace
• 3+ years with real-time messaging middleware (Kafka/RabbitMQ/Solace/Tibco)
• Experience with multi-threaded applications
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, OOP, design patterns, algorithms
• Deployment and debugging on UNIX/Linux
• Understanding of capital markets and financial derivatives
• Performance tuning and low-latency Java programming
• Experience with RDBMS (Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB)
• In-memory caches (Redis, Ignite, GemFire)
• CI/CD pipelines
• Test-driven development (unit and E2E tests)
