Layton Construction is seeking an Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial projects in a fast-paced preconstruction environment. The role supports cost accuracy and collaborates with project teams to deliver competitive bids.

Responsibilities include quantity take-offs, bid analysis, and coordinating with architects, owners, subs, and suppliers. Strong scheduling and documentation skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction related field or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years estimating commercial/industrial projects.
• Proficient with Timberline and Excel; Word knowledge.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Primavera preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and supplementary information for potential projects.
• Reading contract docs and offering value-engineering options.
• Perform quantity take-offs and bid analysis.
• Coordinate with architects and owners during preconstruction.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend owner meetings during estimate development.
