Job summary

Connectly Recruiting seeks a Senior Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) to support large EPC and design-build projects, mainly in data centers and heavy industrial sectors, in Houston, TX. This on-site role requires deep knowledge of material takeoffs, labor productivity, and cost control.

You will prepare detailed estimates for piping, mechanical systems, and civil/structural scopes, review drawings, develop bid pricing, and collaborate with project teams to defend estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or 10+ years of experience.
• 10+ years estimating experience in industrial construction, with focus on mechanical/piping.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural methods and cost drivers.
• Proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and drawings.
• Experience with EPC or design-build project delivery preferred.
• Minimal travel for pre-bid site visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical scopes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing using Accubid and Excel.
• Review drawings and specs to ensure complete estimates.
• Collaborate with project teams to validate assumptions.
• Develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals.
• Create construction schedules in Microsoft Project.
• Analyze subcontractor quotes for alignment with scope.
• Identify risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support bid reviews, reconciliations, and handoffs.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical productivity data.
