Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Electrical Estimator for industrial EPC and data center construction in Houston, TX.

The role focuses on developing detailed electrical and instrumentation estimates for large-scale projects nationwide, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams. You will review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, evaluate bids, and prepare proposal documentation, maintaining cost data and driving estimating accuracy.

Qualifications

• Electrical construction estimating experience within industrial, commercial, EPC, or mission-critical construction.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Knowledge of electrical materials, installation methods, and construction labor requirements.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, and subcontractor bid evaluations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Bluebeam, McCormick, Accubid, or similar estimating software preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, not required.
• Data center construction experience is a plus, not required.
• Ability to work independently and travel nationwide as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation estimates for complex construction projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams throughout the bidding process.
• Analyze labor productivity, material pricing, and project-specific cost considerations.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkdowns.
• Develop proposal documentation and final bid packages.
• Maintain historical cost data and support improvements in estimating accuracy.
