Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Sr. Estimator (Mechanical/Civil/Structural) to support large-scale industrial EPC and data center projects in the Houston area. This role requires deep knowledge of piping/mechanical cost estimation, civil and structural cost drivers, and strong takeoff capabilities.

You will prepare detailed estimates, review drawings, collaborate with project teams, and develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals. Onsite work with minimal travel.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial construction estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural cost drivers.
• Proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree or 10 years experience in lieu.
• Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, and structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, and mechanical scopes with emphasis on piping and mechanical systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment pricing using Accubid and Excel.
• Review drawings, specs, and scope documents for accuracy.
• Collaborate with project teams to validate assumptions and strategies.
• Develop pricing for lump sum, unit rate, and time-and-materials proposals.
• Develop construction schedules in Microsoft Project.
• Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for alignment with scope and standards.
• Identify risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support bid reviews, reconciliations, and post-bid handoffs.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost benchmarks.
