Job summary

Loenbro, LLC is seeking an Estimator III to lead complex pursuits with minimal supervision, delivering advanced technical judgment and QA/QC on estimates up to multi-million dollar scopes. You will coordinate with clients, design teams, operations, and procurement to align pricing, risk and execution strategy.

The role requires strong experience in mechanical, structural and industrial construction, plus the ability to mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction estimating experience with focus on mechanical, structural, and industrial construction.
• Advanced estimating capability with self-perform estimates from conceptual through final bid stages.
• Experience estimating self-perform scopes including light civil, concrete/structural, structural steel, process engineering, and process piping.
• Ability to lead estimate planning, scope development, quantity takeoffs, cost analysis and cross-functional coordination with minimal supervision.
• Strong command of labor productivity, crew composition, production rates, material and equipment pricing, indirect costs and proposal development.
• Advanced ability to interpret and quantify drawings and specifications across mechanical, structural, process piping, civil and related construction scopes.
• Experience identifying scope gaps, constructability concerns, execution constraints, productivity risks and interfaces between scopes.
• Experience developing detailed self-perform estimates for concrete structures, structural steel, process piping systems and mechanical systems.
• Effective written, verbal, presentation, collaboration and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of complex plan-and-specification, design-assist, design-build, and conceptual pursuits.
• Integrate multiple work packages, validate quantities, pricing, indirect costs, schedule assumptions and execution strategy.
• Lead risk, constructability, contingency and value-engineering analysis for assigned pursuits.
• Direct quotation strategy, bid leveling, scope reconciliation, and resolution of subcontractor/gap issues.
• Lead estimate reviews for assigned work and perform peer QA/QC on estimates of moderate risk.
• Coordinate with clients, Operations, Procurement and Business Development on scope and pursuit strategy.
• Mentor junior estimators on pursuit assignments without department authority.
• Contribute to cost history, benchmarks, templates and process improvements.
• Support estimate turnover and lessons-learned activities to improve future estimates.
