Job summary

Loenbro is seeking a Chief Estimator to lead the estimating department and shape strategy for high-value, multi-discipline pursuits across industrial construction. Based in Texas, you will drive standards, data, and collaborative processes to deliver competitive, defensible proposals.

You will develop talent, optimize workflows, and coordinate with Operations, Procurement, and leadership to ensure accurate estimates, risk-aware decisions, and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience in industrial construction across mechanical/structural, concrete, process equipment and piping.
• 5+ years leading estimators and overseeing estimating workflow.
• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-discipline estimates and proposals.
• Strong knowledge of labor productivity, material pricing, subcontractor analysis and pricing requirements.
• Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software and data-management tools.
• Excellent written, verbal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel periodically; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the estimating team by aligning priorities, staffing, pursuit assignments, and resources.
• Build, retain, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing estimating team with clear expectations.
• Lead the estimating process, workflows, deadlines, and quality control across project sizes and delivery methods.
• Establish and continuously improve department standards, methods, and cost structures.
• Direct development of estimates across varying stages and scopes to ensure competitive proposals.
• Oversee complex multi-discipline pursuits; validate scope, pricing, and risk alignment.
• Review final estimates and proposal packages for completeness and pricing integrity.
• Lead risk assessment, contingency development, constructability review, and value engineering.
• Oversee subcontractor/vendor strategy, bid coverage, and market-pricing awareness.
• Coordinate with Operations and other stakeholders to align scope and execution strategy.
• Own department reporting, analytics, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Promote a culture of integrity, urgency, and excellence.
