Qualifications

• 5+ years in heavy industrial estimating and cost control across civil, structural, mechanical or piping disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of estimating techniques, engineering disciplines, and cost control practices.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive and complex proposals with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, and ERP platforms (HeavyBid, Primavera P6, Viewpoint).
• Willingness to travel periodically.
• OSHA certification or safety training.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to a team of estimators responsible for accurate, competitive proposals.
• Oversee development and delivery of estimates for projects up to $100M across multiple disciplines.
• Direct interpretation of bid documents and ensure compliant proposal execution.
• Establish standardized estimating processes and rigorous review practices.
• Mentor and develop estimating staff to improve technical competency.
• Drive use of historical data and estimating tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead estimate reviews and governance aligning with execution strategies and risks.
• Oversee turnover of estimates to Operations for successful project execution.
• Maintain pricing integrity including change order estimates and procurement strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, BD, and leadership to align strategies with market conditions.
• Establish KPIs for win/loss and estimate accuracy; drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and standardize estimating systems and cost structures for scalability.
• Build and scale the estimating organization in line with company growth.
