Job summary

CRH's APAC Alabama, Inc. is seeking a Chief Estimator to prepare bids for commercial and highway projects, review subcontractor bids, and oversee the estimating process from tender to award.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and at least 10 years in heavy highway estimating, with proficiency in HCSS, Project Pipeline, DOT software, and Excel.

Travel and flexible schedule, safety focus, and collaboration with operations and sales teams are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum 10 years estimating heavy highway projects.
• Experience with state/federal DOT highway projects and military bases.

Responsibilities

• Manage one or more estimators.
• Review bids for conformity to contract requirements.
• Direct activities concerned with contracts for purchase or sale/rental of equipment, materials, products, or services.
• Engage and manage project handoff from estimating to operations for all booked projects.
• Coordinate work with external sales team on price formulation.
