Job summary

The Senior Estimator at Sundt Inc. leads preconstruction efforts, serving as a primary contact with design teams and owners on diverse project deliveries. This role develops detailed estimates for earthwork, paving, utilities, and structures across transit and civil infrastructure.

Candidates should have extensive experience in take-offs, quotes, and bid development, with a strong background in cost history data and supplier coordination to secure competitive pricing.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• LEED accreditation and DBIA certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
• Ten or more years of estimating experience.
• Experience as prime contact with minimal oversight.
• Project experience in civil/structure sectors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed take-offs and develop cost estimates.
• Solicit quotes and close out bids.
• Lead and coordinate junior estimators and interns.
• Utilize HCSS knowledge for estimate entry and quote system tools.
• Review cost history databases for production rate verification.
• Coordinate supplier quotes for materials, equipment and subcontractors.
