Job summary

Nautilus Homes in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead estimating and procurement from early design through project buyout. You will prepare budgets, review drawings, and distribute bid packages to subs while supporting project managers throughout procurement.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in estimating or preconstruction for luxury homes, excellent organization, and strong knowledge of residential construction practices in Florida. Onsite role with solid benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating, preconstruction, procurement, or project management experience.
• Experience in luxury custom homes or high-end residential construction.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents.
• Experience managing subcontractor bidding and procurement.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Excel, and construction estimating software.
• Working knowledge of Florida residential construction and permitting requirements.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.

Working alongside Project Managers, architects, and trade partners, you'll help transform design concepts into accurate budgets, competitive bids, and successful construction projects.

What You'll Do

As Senior Estimator, you'll lead the estimating and procurement process from early design through project buyout.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Prepare conceptual budgets, design-phase estimates, and final control estimates
• Review construction drawings and specifications for scope, constructability, and pricing opportunities
• Develop baseline project schedules to support estimating and planning
• Prepare and distribute bid packages to subcontractors and suppliers
• Analyze and level subcontractor proposals while preparing award recommendations
• Support Project Managers through procurement, buyout, and subcontract preparation
• Price change orders and provide estimating support throughout construction
• Maintain historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the region

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of estimating, preconstruction, procurement, or project management experience
• Experience in luxury custom homes or high-end residential construction preferred
• Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and estimating practices
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documents
• Experience managing subcontractor bidding and procurement
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Excel, and construction estimating software
• Working knowledge of Florida residential construction and permitting requirements
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed
