Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking an Estimating Manager 2 in Atlanta to review and execute bids for multiple projects, handling complex cost estimates and vendor coordination. The role advances the estimating function, supports subcontractor pricing and drives project profitability through thorough bid analysis.

The position requires 5+ years of estimating experience, strong MS Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate with operations, suppliers, and clients in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 5+ years estimating experience required.
• Preference for total of 8+ years construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs quantity survey of materials shown on project plans.
• Reads and outlines project specifications.
• Maintains an audit trail of the quantity survey from estimate to estimate.
• Supports vendor/subcontractor pricing and bid solicitation.
• Works collaboratively with project team members, subcontractors, vendors and clients.
• Prepares complex cost estimates for competitive bids and negotiated proposals.
• Tracks value creation items from development through inclusion and documents in project documentation.
• Develops and manages scopes of work for all trades and pricing, bid solicitation and coordination.
• Collaborates with operations to provide constructability reviews of project documents.
• Provides professional and comprehensive deliverables at the completion of each major estimate.
• Presents and sells estimates and proposals and participates in procurement presentations.
• Coordinates feasibility studies on life-cycle costs of building systems.
• Leads efforts to assemble and store project cost history.
• Provides training and mentorship to others.
