Charles County Government seeks an Equipment Operator to perform equipment operation in maintaining county roads, parks, water/sewer, utilities and facilities. Operates gasoline and diesel powered heavy equipment including trucks, loaders, backhoes and power shovels.

A high school diploma or GED and at least three years of experience with medium to heavy equipment are required, plus a valid CDL Class A and B (Class A within 6 months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience operating medium to heavy equipment.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A and B (Class A required within 6 months of hire).
• This position is subject to random drug and alcohol screening for CDL holders.

Responsabilités

• Operates equipment in maintenance of county roads, parks, and grounds, and water/sewer facilities.
• Performs routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Provides work direction to others as assigned.
• Performs mechanical shop duties when assigned.
• Participates in emergency response plans as assigned.
• Maintains records of equipment usage, repairs, and fuel logs.
• Repairs and replaces fences, playgrounds, and ball fields.
• Inspects parks and fields for equipment and grounds damage.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
