Calvert County Government is seeking a road maintenance operator responsible for operating heavy equipment and performing related manual tasks. The role requires following instructions and ensuring safe, efficient road work on daily projects.

Responsibilities include equipment checks, sign placement, and supervising crew activity as needed, plus snow removal and storm cleanup as required. A Class A restricted CDL with Medical Examiner’s Certificate is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of road maintenance procedures.
• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of road construction or highway maintenance experience.
• Valid Class A restricted CDL and a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate per Federal Regulations.

Responsabilités

• Check equipment for daily jobs and ensure proper operating order.
• Operate mandatory road maintenance and construction equipment.
• Assign work in absence of crew leaders and monitor progress.
• Ensure safe work sites with proper signage and public safety.
• Perform manual tasks when not operating equipment and assist with emergencies.
