Berkeley County (SC) Government seeks skilled Vehicle Operators to run heavy equipment for county road and drainage projects. Positions require operating dump trucks, tractors, and trailers, with CDL A/B endorsements as mandated, and adherence to safety policies.

The role includes transporting equipment, performing basic maintenance, assisting with traffic control, and potentially supervising crew members. A clean driving record and safe work habits are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.
• Strong mathematical skills preferred.
• Ability to use pneumatic power tools and general mechanics tools.
• Ability to use or repair small to heavy equipment and machinery.

Responsabilités

• Operate heavy equipment and vehicles for county rights of way maintenance.
• Load and unload vehicles ensuring safety rules are followed.
• Maintain and perform minor service on assigned vehicles (fluids, lighting, tires).
• Operate hand tools, forklifts, chainsaws, weed eaters, and compactors as needed.
• Repair roadways, driveways and sinkholes; manage site safety.
