Job summary

The Hartford seeks an EPL Claims Consultant to manage a caseload of litigated employment practices liability claims from inception through resolution. You will assess coverage, liability and damages, coordinate with defense counsel, and report to senior leadership.

Hybrid or remote work options apply, with office presence near Hartford, CT and other locations as needed. Ideal candidates have a JD, 7+ years of EPL experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate preferred; College degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years handling litigated EPL cases or claims.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of litigated EPL claims from inception to disposition.
• Assess coverage, liability and damages based on facts.
• Coordinate with defense counsel and manage litigation planning and budgeting.
• Present case updates to senior claim leadership and adjust strategy as needed.
• Attend trials and mediations as necessary and support underwriting.
