Job summary

Cytel is seeking an Associate Director, Epidemiological Statistical Programming to lead and mentor a team of statisticians and programmers. You will translate study objectives into robust programming strategies, develop reusable workflows, and collaborate with epidemiologists and data scientists to deliver high-quality analyses using SAS and/or R.

This role emphasizes leadership, scalability, and regulatory-quality outputs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of statistical programming experience in pharma, biotech, CRO, or life sciences.
• Experience with epidemiological, observational, and real-world evidence (RWE) research.
• Proficiency in SAS and/or R for complex analyses.
• Experience with large healthcare data sources (claims, EHR, registries).
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and functional leadership to epidemiological programmers supporting epidemiological and real-world studies, mentoring team members and guiding programming practices.
• Lead hands-on statistical programming activities for epidemiological studies across therapeutic areas.
• Develop, validate, and maintain SAS and/or R programs for analysis datasets, tables, figures, and outputs.
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, data scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders on programming approaches.
• Oversee deliverables to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, quality, and timely delivery.
