Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Senior EPIC Scheduling Optimization Specialist in Virginia Beach to lead the design, optimization, and maintenance of Epic scheduling templates, visit types, and decision trees for ambulatory services.

The role requires expertise in Epic Cadence, advanced data analysis, and collaboration with clinical and operational leaders to improve access and provider capacity utilization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Epic scheduling build and configuration experience essential.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills required.
• Experience with ambulatory operations and scheduling best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Epic reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and modify Epic scheduling templates, visit types, modifiers, and decision trees.
• Provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for Epic scheduling configuration requests.
• Collaborate with service line and department leaders to align scheduling strategies and resolve issues.
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of template and decision tree requests; educate end users.
• Analyze scheduling data to identify variances and recommend improvements.
• Lead scheduling-related projects including onboarding and offboarding of providers and automation workflows.
• Conduct trainings and develop user guides for template and decision tree maintenance.
• Collaborate with IS and Epic teams to test and implement system enhancements.
• Leverage Power BI, Excel, and Tableau to produce insights and monitor scheduling outcomes.
• Align with Sentara scheduling standards and onboarding processes.
