Job summary

Connectly Recruiting in Houston seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale electrical or mechanical EPC construction projects onsite with 70% travel. You will oversee preconstruction through closeout, manage budgets, and coordinate clients, executives, field operations, and subcontractors.

The role requires 10+ years in electrical/mechanical/industrial construction, PMP/OSHA preferred, and a proven record of multisite project leadership. Per diem is provided for extensive travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent combinations of education and relevant industry experience will be considered.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical, mechanical, industrial, utility, or EPC construction, including at least 5 years managing complex, large-scale construction projects with significant financial and operational responsibility.
• Demonstrated success leading multimillion-dollar electrical or mechanical construction projects, preferably within data centers, cryptocurrency mining facilities, oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, power generation, industrial plants, or other large-scale infrastructure environments.
• Strong technical knowledge in electrical construction or mechanical construction disciplines.
• Advanced understanding of construction contracts, project financial management, estimating, scheduling, procurement, change order management, risk mitigation, and cost forecasting.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage subcontractor relationships, negotiate with clients, and communicate effectively with executive leadership and other key stakeholders.
• Proficiency with project management and scheduling software, including Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and related construction management platforms.
• PMP certification, OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and familiarity with applicable electrical or mechanical construction safety standards preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively and remain on project sites for extended durations as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for the successful execution of large-scale electrical, mechanical, or industrial construction projects, overseeing all phases from preconstruction and budgeting through project closeout.
• Manage project financial performance, including budgets, cost forecasting, cash flow, profitability, change management, and financial reporting, while proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
• Direct and coordinate project teams, superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment with project objectives, resource requirements, schedules, and contractual obligations.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, general contractors, and key stakeholders, serving as the primary point of contact for project performance, contract negotiations, issue resolution, and strategic planning.
• Oversee project scheduling, procurement, labor productivity, material management, and resource allocation to optimize operational efficiency and ensure successful execution of complex construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, applicable electrical or mechanical construction codes, quality requirements, and contractual specifications while promoting a proactive safety culture across all project sites.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to project managers, project engineers, and field leadership while collaborating with executive management to identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and continued business growth.
