Job summary

American Electric Power seeks a Project Manager Staff Sr. or Staff to lead complex EPC and IT projects within a matrix organization.

You will plan, direct, coordinate, and close projects safely and efficiently, coordinating with plant staff, customers, suppliers, and regulators to achieve goals and maximize customer satisfaction. You’ll apply Waterfall and Agile PM methods, communicate clearly, and manage scope, schedule, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM, ENG, BUSINESS, CS, or related field with 10 years experience.
• Or an Associate’s degree with 12 years of qualified experience in PM or related fields.
• PMP certification required unless waiver is granted; valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage project activities with expert proficiency in PM principles.
• Support safety: ensure a safe working environment aligned with Zero Harm.
• Develop and manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools and staff; control costs.
• Communicate status and outages; lead meetings and stakeholder presentations.
• Build relationships with internal/external customers, vendors and partners.
• Provide guidance and training to others to improve design, processes, schedules and costs.
• Represent AEP with customers, vendors, regulators as needed.
• Align projects with AEP PM standards and drive continuous improvement.
