Job summary

Nemak USA seeks an Environmental Sustainability Engineer/Leader to design and execute the environmental compliance and sustainability strategy. This role acts as a technical authority and strategic advisor to ensure regulatory adherence, minimize environmental impacts, and enhance energy performance.

The position partners with site environmental professionals and HSE leadership to drive alignment, innovation, and cross-site improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance and sustainability management within manufacturing settings.
In-depth knowledge of EPA, WDNR, and related regulatory guidelines.
Experience with ISO 14001 and a strong interest or experience in ISO 50001 implementation preferred.
Outstanding communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

Ensure Nemak USA sites comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., EPA, WDNR).
Lead programs on air, water, waste, and hazardous materials management across multiple sites; support ISO 14001 EMS implementation and maintenance.
Conduct targeted environmental audits and oversee corrective action plans.
Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
Develop and execute a cross-site energy roadmap, including renewable energy sourcing and on-site power strategies.
Lead decarbonization initiatives to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
Implement ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems.
Identify and oversee energy efficiency projects aiming for 3% annual energy reduction.
Monitor, analyze, and report energy KPIs, consumption trends, and emissions data.
Collaborate with Finance and Operations for sustainability Capex planning and ROI analysis.
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and share best practices across Nemak USA and global teams.
Align local initiatives with Nemak's global ESG priorities and Climate Task Force mandates.
Provide expert guidance to Environmental Coordinators and Specialists.
Work with HSE Managers to close gaps in compliance and performance.
Represent Nemak USA in internal and external sustainability forums.
